Man endures ‘world’s most extreme diet’ for 100 hours and reveals the shocking effects on his body

A man who embarked on the ‘most extreme diet in the world’ for a duration of 100 hours has shared the surprising effects it had on his body.
Will Tennyson has gained popularity on YouTube, amassing over three million subscribers for his insightful takes on fitness, lifestyle, and extreme challenges.
This bodybuilder and author of a cookbook is famous for testing the boundaries of his physical capabilities, and in May, he disclosed that he had embarked on the world’s ‘most extreme diet’ for over four days.
“It’s time to eliminate every last bit of fat from my body,” Will stated as he commenced the challenge. “This is going to be tough.”
“I have a sense that I’m going to be so thin I might as well be two-dimensional by the end of this.”

Will disclosed that he adhered to the ‘depletion’ diet, aiming to deprive his body of glycogen so that he could enhance his muscles ‘even more’ by the end of the challenge.
His strict diet consisted of 235g of protein, 54g of carbohydrates, and 81g of fat, which essentially had him consuming a simple meal plan of broccoli (or other green vegetables), chicken, a tablespoon of olive oil, and a quarter teaspoon of salt three times a day, in addition to a protein powder shake of two scoops.
“I believe the last time I had 54g of carbohydrates in a day was when I stopped breastfeeding. That is nearly ketogenic,” Will commented as he began his journey.
He had four rules to follow: to walk 12,000 steps every day (excluding exercise), drink two gallons of water, and steer clear of artificial sweeteners or any other seasonings aside from his salt and olive oil allowance.
Will commenced with a weight of 178.3lbs, and over the next few days, he experienced some side effects from the highly restrictive diet.
His coach stated that the depletion diet is ‘harsh’ for hunger, and Will himself demonstrated that by the first day, his energy had significantly declined.
Even while continuing his workouts at the gym, he remarked: “Training during a depletion is like Olympic diving into a frozen lake. They just don’t mix.”
He shared with his audience how he tried to keep a positive mindset, but expressed sentiments like: “This diet is like a freaking arranged marriage because the only passion I have is the urge to cheat on it.”
“I did not expect to be tired of this on the first day.”
After the first night, he stated that he went to bed ‘hungry’ and felt like crying.
“I feel really strange right now, like my head is throbbing,” he added.

By the next day, he had already shed 3lbs and remarked that it was even more difficult, stating that he felt like a ‘string bean’.
It was not only the fatigue or hunger that troubled him, but also the fact that he felt ‘incredibly weak’.
“My body feels like it’s shutting down,” Will added.
“On the positive side, I’m no longer scared of zombies because I am one.”
By bedtime, after yet another day of chicken, vegetables, olive oil, a dash of salt, and protein powder, he said his head was throbbing and he felt ‘incredibly irritable’.
“I had to close the blinds; the sunlight hurts my head. I can’t watch TV because it hurts my head,” he commented. “If I stand, I feel like I might fall.”

By the end of his challenge, Will’s physique had undergone a significant transformation.
He revealed he had a weight of 173.8lbs – a notable decrease, with a weight loss of 4.5lbs in just four days.
“I can definitely see a significant change, especially in my quadriceps. They have become much more defined; I do look a lot flatter,” he remarked.
However, he was certainly relieved that the challenge was over and he could finally consume carbohydrates (particularly a sweet potato), noting that his muscles had become so sore he could not ‘connect’ with them at all.
Ouch!
