Fans Demand Second Season of Netflix’s Hit Series with Over 16.7 Million Views

Although Netflix’s top show this week is classified as ‘limited,’ this hasn’t stopped discussions about a second season for what is considered ‘one of the best series of all time.’

Indeed, it is that good. Sirens has been available for a week and, according to Netflix’s Tudum, it has reached a total of 16,700,000 views.

Created and produced by Molly Smith Metzler ( Maid), the mini-series stars Julianne Moore ( Still Alice), Meghann Fahy ( The White Lotus), and Milly Alcock ( House of the Dragon).

The plot revolves around Devon (Fahy), who attempts to reconnect with her younger sister Simone (Alcock), but finds herself obstructed by her sister’s enticing boss, Michaela (Moore). Will Devon be able to open Simone’s eyes and pull her away from the luxurious life that has seduced her?

Just as Michaela has captivated Simone, Sirens has captivated Netflix viewers, generating significant buzz online; a social media user described the series as ‘absolutely 10/10.’

Fans of the series have been questioning Netflix about the possibility of a second season (Netflix).

Fans’ Reactions and Sirens’ Appeals for a Second Season

Sirens has garnered significant online support, with one Twitter user stating: “Simoooone! I felt a total gut punch while trying to understand the last 15 minutes of the finale #SirensNetflix #Sirens.

Another user added: “# Sirens has proven that Meghann Fahy is one of the best actresses in the game. Her intelligence and charm can make you laugh one moment and then have you in tears the next. Additionally, her courage can be easily showcased. A bright future awaits you. #SirensNetflix.”

The third user commented, ” Sirens is one of the best series to have aired in a long time.”

And the fourth user reached a conclusion: “To be honest, I think it deserves a 10/10. I loved being duped; I would watch season 2 #SirensNetflix.”

So, despite being marketed as a ‘limited series,’ can viewers still hold onto hope for a second season of Sirens?

What the Creator of the Show Said about Sirens’ Second Season

Unfortunately, as of the time of writing, a second season has not been confirmed – but that doesn’t mean all hope is lost, right?

The show’s creator, Metzler, mentioned in an interview with Glamour that the support for the series and the viewers’ requests for a second season have been ‘truly encouraging.’.

However, she expressed reservations about ‘doing justice’ to ‘another season,’ stating, “Never say never […] I will have to think about it.”

And some of the cast members are certainly optimistic.

In an interview with Variety, Fahy discussed where her character could go after the events of the first season, stating that Devon has undergone a significant evolution and will be ‘a very different person’ when she returns.

Sirens Season 2: What the Cast is Saying

“I think when she goes home, she won’t be drinking again. I think she no longer sees Ray [Josh Segarra] as Ray,” Fahy said. “I love that she is able to pull herself together and leave with more self-respect than when she arrived. Even if she has to stay and deal with her father in the end, she has actively made her choice, and that is a strength for her.”

The actress noted that the season ‘ended very naturally’ and expressed her curiosity about what would happen to ‘Michaela’ and where she would go next.

“For that reason, I definitely think it is within the realm of possibility. We haven’t discussed it on set, but I would love to do more,” she concluded.

Fahy’s sentiments were echoed by Alcock, who said in an interview with Town and Country that Simone is ‘a very captivating person’ and that she ‘would love to explore a second season.’.

So, what about Metzler, Netflix?
